Last night and today, light snow fell in Tehran, with snow and rain reported in many parts of the country. At 8:30 AM, I attended the inauguration of the [first] International Conference on the Status of Women Following the Teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt, organized by the World Assembly of Ahl al-Bayt at the International Conference Center of IRIB. I visited the exhibition.

Mr. Ali Akbar Velayati and Mr. Ali Larijani discussed the negative impacts of the actions taken by teachers and students and the atmosphere of distrust stemming from numerous accusations made during Shahram Jazayeri's trial. They attributed the roots of cultural movements to provocations from the Participation Front. I mentioned that they also accuse the right-wing factions. During the conference, after a report from Ms. Monireh Nobakht, the conference secretary, and Dr. Velayati, the Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Ahl al-Bayt, I delivered a comprehensive speech about Islam's emphasis on justice between men and women and the need to improve the status of women.

I then went to my office in Koushk and studied until 4 PM, focusing mainly on the plans regarding the history of the Imams, the indictment against Jazayeri, and the other defendants in his case. In the evening, Mahdi came by with questions related to organizing the [report] and the memoirs from 1362 (1983), titled "Calm and Challenge." I spoke with Iffat on the phone from Mecca.

In Beirut, Eli Habibah was killed in an explosion, and initial suspicion points toward Israel, as he had stated his readiness to testify in a Belgian court against Israeli crimes and Ariel Sharon regarding the Sabra and Shatila massacre. It is possible that Israel might also retaliate by accusing Iran due to Habibah's involvement in the abduction of Iranian diplomats.

In recent days, a U.S. military helicopter crashed in Kabul, resulting in two fatalities and several injuries. An unmanned U.S. aircraft was also downed, and there was military engagement between U.S. soldiers in Kandahar and Al-Qaeda members. In India, the U.S. consulate was attacked, leading to five deaths and 16 injuries, while a bomb exploded near the British Embassy in Pakistan; a series of incidents has raised concerns for the U.S.
