Today’s meeting with Seyyed Taha Hashemi, the then-representative of Qom in the Fifth Parliament, included several important points. He reported on his trip to Saudi Arabia with Ali Akbar Nateq-Nouri and the cold behavior of the country's leaders. He also discussed remarks by Sheikh Kazem Seddiqi, Deputy Chief of the Tehran Court of Appeal, though the editor mistakenly referred to him as the head of the Tehran General Courts in my memoirs.

A notable quote came from Sheikh Abdolreza Izadpanah, a senior official in the Judiciary, who said that Ayatollah Khamenei was not in favor of the reduced sentence issued by the Tehran Court of Appeal for Gholamhossein Karbaschi. Subsequently, the Supreme Court, in an extraordinary session, quickly annulled this appellate court's ruling, showing the leader's dissatisfaction with the case, as detailed in other entries in my memoirs. The swift actions of the judiciary confirm the accuracy of these concerns.

Meeting with Minister of Interior Musavi Lari and Deputy Mostafa Tajzadeh: They visited me to gain support from the Expediency Council for the parliament’s stance on requiring documented justification for disqualifications by the Guardian Council. They also hoped that the issue of "supervisory interpretation" (estesvabi oversight) and the limits of the Guardian Council's supervision could be clarified. However, this matter was unrelated to the current discussion.

Seyyed Abbas Hosseini: He sought my advice on whether to continue his involvement in the Combatant Clergy Association (Jame'e-ye Rouhaniyat-e Mobarez), to which I expressed agreement and offered guidance on how to proceed.

In the evening, the Supreme Court announced that it had overturned the Court of Appeals' ruling, meaning that Gholamhossein Karbaschi’s original sentence remained unchanged, without any reduction.
