Full Text of the Daily Memo:

We were in Lalan until the evening. We took a short walk in the mountains and saw the trout fish farming canals. Mohsen, [the chairman and CEO of the Metro Company], said that a section of Line 1 of the Tehran Metro will be inaugurated next Tuesday. In the evening, we were guests at Mahmoud’s brother’s house. In the afternoon, the kids were excitedly watching the football match between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which ended 2-0 in favor of Iran; there was an exhilarating atmosphere across the country.

Most of my time was spent reading a new book about U.S.-Iran relations from September 1941 onwards. The Political and International Studies Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published it, utilizing recently released documents from the U.S. State Department. It contains noteworthy points, and some parts were new to me. We returned home late at night. I checked the reports and news on the computer and went to bed at midnight; it was warm.
