Hashemi's Account of the Friday Prayer Sermons by Imams Across the Country in Opposition to Seyyed Mohammad Khatami

Complete Daily Record:

I went to the University of Tehran to conduct the Friday prayer. Yasser and my daughter Leila accompanied me. I delivered a sermon about sincerity and hypocrisy, followed by a sermon on important current issues in the country and the world. The sermons were lengthy, lasting one hour and ten minutes. The afternoon was spent resting and reading reports.

Mahdi, the CEO of the National Fuel Consumption Optimization Organization, provided explanations regarding the program for using natural gas as fuel for vehicles. Although it requires heavy investment, the benefits from converting fuel from gasoline to gas are significantly greater, along with positive environmental impacts.

Mohsen, the CEO of the Office for the Publication of Revolutionary Knowledge, brought a sample of my memoirs, recently published as “Hashemi Rafsanjani: Performance and Memoirs of 1982: After the Crisis.” The newspaper "Jomhouri Islami" is also gradually publishing the full text.

In the United States, a prolonged power outage in California has caused ongoing issues, considering that daily activities there are automated and reliant on electricity. This situation forecasts a challenging future for the industrial world in this regard, highlighting the importance of oil and gas in the future. Consequently, discussions about lifting sanctions on Iran and allowing American oil companies to participate in the Iranian oil sector have intensified.

In Jordan, after Friday prayers, large demonstrations were held to commemorate the anniversary of the occupation of Palestine, resulting in clashes with the police, injuring around 100 people and leading to approximately 100 arrests. The leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan harshly criticized the government.

The European Union Court is addressing the issue of Turkey's violations in Cyprus, with matters such as over a thousand missing persons receiving attention. If Turkey is not exonerated, it will pose an obstacle to its acceptance into the European Union. Today, many Friday prayer leaders spoke in a way that indicated opposition to Seyyed Mohammad Khatami.
