Full Text of the Daily Notes:

I received a phone call from Iftat, informing me that she will return from Umrah on Monday. I went to Tehran University for Friday prayers. I delivered a sermon on the significance of the Islamic Revolution's victory and another regarding America's hostilities toward the revolution, particularly the recent remarks made by the U.S. President, warning him against his statements.

I dedicated part of my time to studying the memoirs of Martyr Mohammad Reza Khalili, titled Dasht Abbas, which chronicles his daily experiences from the moment he left for the front until the end. It recalls many details regarding the conditions at the battlefront and the state of the volunteer forces. I also read a section from An Suye Eteham, the memoirs of Abbas Amir Entezam, which contains harsh criticisms of the Imam Line students, particularly Abbas Abdi, who was detained for a time at the American Embassy.

Bush, in a meeting with Ariel Sharon, the Prime Minister of Israel, in Washington, urged Yasser Arafat to cooperate more with Israel for security purposes. Arafat has appointed a successor. Israel has shelled southern Lebanon. An Indian aircraft headed for Afghanistan, carrying an Indian delegation, was unable to land in Kabul and faced difficulties in Iran, forcing it to return to Delhi.

It was announced that Iran has rejected David Radway, the newly appointed British ambassador, causing anger in the UK, which stated that it would downgrade relations to the level of chargé d'affaires. There was significant uproar in Iranian media, alleging that he is Jewish and has intelligence connections.

Another Russian helicopter crashed in Chechnya, killing nine military personnel on board. An American drone was shot down in Afghanistan, and the U.S. claimed to have destroyed a convoy of fuel trucks, asserting they were linked to al-Qaeda.

The U.S. has transferred another group of detainees from Afghanistan to Guantanamo, and it has been accepted that Taliban prisoners will enjoy rights under the Geneva Convention; however, al-Qaeda detainees are not recognized as prisoners of war. Reports indicate that detainees are remaining silent and not responding to interrogators. A person named Haji Akram claims to have been bin Laden's cook and has provided information about him in an interview.

Mr. Ali Larijani brought part of the transcripts from Colin Powell, the Secretary of State, and George Tenet, the CIA Director, who explicitly supported Seyyed Mohammad Khatami against Ayatollah Khamenei. He expressed confidence that the Karin A vessel was sent for the Palestinians by a subsidiary of the Ministry of Defense.
