Conclusion of the Assembly of Experts Meeting and Ongoing Political Discussions as Narrated by Hashemi

Continued tensions regarding territorial divisions in Sabzevar and Asaluyeh.

Full Text of the Daily Memo:

In the morning and afternoon, the Assembly of Experts held a session. In the afternoon meeting, a concluding statement was read after being approved by the members, and elections for several committees were conducted. Proposals were presented to activate the Assembly further. At the end of the session, we allowed journalists to enter the assembly. The meeting concluded. During the assembly, the supporters of the Second of Khordad criticized the remarks of Mr. Abbas Kabiri, the representative from Khuzestan, against Mr. Mohammad Khatami and Mr. Mehdi Karroubi, the head of the Assembly.

In Sabzevar, some trade groups are still on strike, even though Mr. Khatami stated that nothing regarding the division of Khorasan has been approved. Reports have come in that the situation in Asaluyeh is calming down, and foreign workers are returning to work.

In Durban, the representative from France announced that if an anti-Zionist statement is approved, the countries of the European Union will also leave the session.
