I attended a two-hour meeting of the Legal and Judicial Commission of the Expediency Council to discuss the marriage age issue, which is to be prepared for the Council session. I awarded prizes for the Vilayat Cup competitions. I delivered a detailed speech on sports and answered questions from sports reporters.

Mr. [Mohsen] Nourbakhsh, the Central Bank Governor, and Mr. [Eshaq] Jahangiri, the Minister of Industries and Mines, came to present the Samand car report and discussed the threat of American aggression. They requested my active political involvement for prevention, expressing concern over the declaration of a state of emergency.

In the evening, I was a guest of the Supreme Leader. He elaborated on two sessions with the Supreme National Security Council regarding how to deal with the American threat. He criticized remarks made by Mr. [Seyed Mohammad] Khatami, the President, Mr. [Kamal] Kharazi, the Foreign Minister, Mr. [Seyed Abdulvahed] Mousavi Lari, the Minister of Interior, and Mr. [Mohsen] Aminzadeh, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia and the Pacific, while expressing satisfaction with comments from Mr. [Ali Akbar] Velayati, the advisor for international affairs. He noted that Mr. Khatami had requested Mr. [Hassan] Rouhani not to speak in the second meeting, although he expressed satisfaction with Rouhani’s comments in the first meeting, despite Khatami’s objections. It was mentioned that leaders and officials have been invited to a meeting on Saturday afternoon to justify the current situation and the potential threat from America, with discussions on countermeasures and deterrence. They requested my assistance in this matter.

The main objective is to create consensus in positioning, which is evident as the two factions view consensus from contradictory angles, making it unlikely for the desired outcome from the leadership to be achieved. We also discussed the determination of the members of the Expediency Council in the new term.

In Palestine, yesterday and today, Palestinians conducted several martyrdom operations, killing and injuring a number of Zionists, while Israel repeatedly violated various areas of Gaza and the West Bank, resulting in numerous casualties.

In Afghanistan, clashes continue in the eastern Armah Heights, with the United States announcing that the military forces of Germany, Australia, France, and England are participating in operations. In Germany, the announcement of this news has increased pressure on the government and the Minister of Defense for not informing the Parliament.
