Consultation with Hamid Lahouti for His Factory

Continued reading the screenplay by Hassan Hedayat.

Full Entry:

I was at home. I listened to the mourning ceremonies broadcasted by the state television. I spent a lot of time studying the screenplay of the trial written by Mr. Hassan Hedayat and also reviewing a list of significant events related to Turkey and Iraq over the past two centuries, particularly before the war. The Sizdah Bedar (13th of Farvardin) celebrations were subdued due to Muharram, although foreign media had made significant efforts to provoke for exploitation.

In southern China, an American spy plane with 24 occupants collided with a Chinese fighter jet; the Chinese plane [over the South China Sea] was shot down, and the American plane landed at an airport in the Chinese islands under the supervision of Chinese officials. China considers the spy plane to be a violator and at fault, while the United States blames China and has warned that China has no right to board the American plane, as it contains classified and secret documents, which could escalate into a crisis. The Americans have put their warships in the region on alert.

In Palestine, Israeli soldiers have arrested five officers of [Yasser] Arafat's guard [the President of the Palestinian Authority] and have killed a figure from the [Islamic] Jihad organization by missile from a helicopter. The Palestinians have threatened retaliation, and [Hosni] Mubarak, who has gone to America, has stated that the Palestinian crisis is out of control.

In Turkey, there were widespread protests yesterday against the government's economic policies, and the United Arab Emirates has asked the Security Council [of the United Nations] to request Iran to present the issue of the islands [Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb] to the International Court.

Dr. Hamid Lahouti, [Faezeh’s husband], came. We discussed his work. He mentioned that he also goes to his clinic and serves as a board member of the factory. He said that due to a lack of funds, the construction of his house has been halted.
