The Strange Report of Sheikh Abbas Ali Alizadeh, the Chief Justice of Tehran Province, on the Amended Ruling of the Judicial Panel of Branch 27 of the Tehran Court of Appeals, Presided Over by Judge Sheikh Ali Bakhshi, Who Is Now a Lawyer in Tehran and the Allegation of His Purchase!

This ruling of the Court of Appeals was, of course, annulled by the application of Article 18 of the Law on the Formation of General and Revolutionary Courts (Article 477 of the Criminal Procedure Code) in the Supreme Court, which prevented the release of Akbar Ganji. It also denounced the efforts and legal recommendations of the late Sheikh Hadi Marvi, the First Deputy of the Judiciary, who, along with Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, had complained to Hashemi about the hindrance posed by him to implementing policies for the arrest of individuals and the confiscation of the press. They also emphasized the lack of coordination of Sheikh Ali Mobasheri, the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Courts of Tehran. Ultimately, these complaints led to a change, and Mobasheri moved to the Administrative Justice Court.

[Mr. Ora Turine], the Cuban ambassador, came to say goodbye. Our conversation was about the quality of developing relations. He said that Mr. [Fidel] Castro, [the leader of Cuba], was influenced by your questions about the situation in Cuba during his trip to Iran and told the ambassador that your curiosity is a sign of interest in Cuba and extensive knowledge. Regarding Mr. Castro fainting during a recent speech, he mentioned that the cause was fatigue, age, lack of sleep the night before, intense heat, and sunlight. After a few minutes, he regained consciousness, but upon the doctors’ advice, he did not continue his speech and only told the people that he would convey the rest of his remarks through television.

Mr. [Abbas Ali] Alizadeh, the head of the Tehran Judiciary, came. He provided explanations about the ruling of the Court of Appeals regarding Mr. [Akbar] Ganji. He believes that the judge was bought; the Supreme Court has annulled the ruling of the Court of Appeals, and he has doubts about Mr. [Hadi] Marvi, [the First Deputy of the Judiciary and the Head of the Supreme Disciplinary Court for Judges] not being influential. Regarding the case of the national-religious individuals, he mentioned that with influence, the sentences for several of them had been prepared, but the head of the Judiciary intervened to prevent them. He also discussed the problems they face regarding the pursuit of political and factional cases and the issues within the Judiciary, including [Mr. Ali Mobasheri], the head of the Revolutionary Court [in Tehran]. He complained about Mr. Marvi that the Disciplinary Court for Judges issued a reprimand against him for an issue that occurred eight years ago in Kerman.

In the afternoon, [Dr. Eisa] Kalantari, [the former Minister of Agriculture], and Dr. [Hasani] Rouhani, [an advisor to the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture], came. They presented slides on the agriculture of developed countries and offered suggestions to strengthen Iran's agriculture, as well as a report on efforts to establish a seed improvement company, which faced difficulties.
