Issuance of Ayatollah Khamenei's Eight-Point Directive to Combat Economic Corruption and Analysis Received by Hashemi from Some Individuals Following the Directive

Complete Daily Record:

In the morning, I visited Shahid Motahari Higher School. Initially, I listened to a report on the school's status from faculty and administration. There are several doctoral and master's students, 400 undergraduate students, and 4,000 high school students enrolled, with an annual expenditure of approximately 500 million tomans. I suggested establishing sociology and political science programs. Then, we participated in a gathering of students and teachers for the anniversary of Martyr Motahari. Mr. Mohammad Imami Kashani welcomed me, and I delivered an extensive speech regarding the responsibilities and missions of students, their academic needs, and the conditions of the time.

In the afternoon, Mr. Hossein Kamali, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, and several managers came. We held a ceremony to honor exemplary workers. Mr. Kamali provided a report, and I discussed the contributions of workers and existing issues, including unemployment, delays in wage payments, and the dismissal of temporary workers, suggesting that the solution lies in boosting the economy through investment and construction. I awarded prizes to eleven exemplary workers, which had been prepared by the Ministry of Labor.

Mr. Massoud Karbasian, the Head of Customs, and his deputies visited. They reported on their initiatives, noting a 30% decrease in exports in April compared to the same month last year, suggesting they might not publish the statistics. They indicated that transit goods do not generate revenue for Iran, do not contribute to employment, and harm infrastructure and the environment.

Mr. Ali Fallahian, the former Minister of Intelligence, came and explained the situation regarding his son, who is still in prison. The court is afraid that if he is released, there will be negative publicity against him, even though it has been established that he acted in defense. He mentioned his determination to run in the elections, believing they will go to a second round.

A statement from the leadership has been issued instructing the fight against financial corruption, addressed to the three branches of government, and this was emphasized in a speech during a visit to Gilan Province today. Some believe it will have a negative impact on investment, economic growth, and employment.

Unrest and disturbances in Indonesia and the Philippines continued today. The Russian Soyuz spacecraft has taken a private tourist to the International Space Station for the first time at a cost of $20 million.
