Akbar Hashemi's Memoirs - August 12, 2002

I gave a detailed speech on the US psychological war against the Islamic world and Iran and the agents of the military policy of Amaraka/The complaint of the mosque, [Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance], the judiciary for dealing with films and books and prostitution.

Full text of the day:

I went to Imam Khomeini Complex to open the fourth [Iranian] Cultural Summit abroad.  Mr. [Mahmoud] Mohammadi Iraqi, the head of the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization, reported, and I gave a detailed speech on the psychological warfare against the Islamic world and Iran and the agents of the military policy.  

Mr [Gholamhossein] Mohammad Golpayegani, [Head of the Leadership Office], said that in Rafsanjan, he visited the Presidential Documentation Center, Library and Museum [Hashemi Rafsanjani].  Mr [Ahmad] Mosque, [Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance], complained about the judiciary for dealing with films and books and crimes.  Mr Iraqi also complained of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government for failing to help the organization [Islamic culture and communications]. 

I went to my office.  [Members] commemorating 15,000 martyrs of the government came.  Mr [Bijan Namdar] Zanganeh, [Minister of Petroleum and Government Representative and Congress Headquarters] reported, and I also talked about the importance of commemorating the sacrifices and the epic of the sacred defense.   The evening of Mr. Seyyed Hossein Marashi, [Brad Obhram] and [Mohammed] Sheikh al -Ris [Kermani] came from the official of the official documents.  They said, Mr. Sheikh al -Ris was elected president of the heads of the head of the head and now the majority of the Board of Directors wants to dismiss him and hold the facilities of the Association, which has reserved about ten billion tomans.  He said he did not give him a fee and explained his services and continued that the heads of the retirement owed you to your support in the first parliament.

At the afternoon, Mr [Sayyid Mohammad Mahdi] Tabatabai and his son Mohammad Hossein, who is a young Qur'an and is now 11 years old, said that about 30 centers have been established to educate and preserve the Qur'an throughout the country with the help of the people.  His son is studying religious science and now reading Maga.  They said that her mother and her father are also keeper of the Koran, and this year a thousand people have trained the entire Qur'an.
