Akbar Hashemi's Memoirs - October 14, 2002

The Bahraini ambassador conveyed the message of the Shah of Bahrain who tried to meet me on a trip to Iran and failed, saying that the people and officials of Bahrain know that you have made a change in the relations between the two countries by traveling to Bahrain.  I also said about the need for more cooperation between the two countries and so on.

[Mr. Saleh Abdullah Saleh], the Bahraini ambassador.  The message [Sheikh Hamad bin al -Khalifa] brought Bahrain, who tried to meet me during the Iranian trip and failed to say that the people and officials of Bahraini know that you were traveling to Bahrain [while traveling to Saudi Arabia].  I also mentioned the need for more cooperation with the two countries and paying attention to the issues of Palestine and American adventure.

A US helicopter has been shot down in Afghanistan and its occupants have been killed.  A French oil ship exploded in Yemen's waters and its fire continues;  One of the passengers disappears and is wounded.  Yemen says it is a common incident, but France has suggested the possibility of sabotage.  In an article by the Prophet of Islam, a priest named [George Faluil] has called the Prophet of Islam that has led to widespread protests in the Muslim world.
