I and many others have fallen into the polluted swamp of degenerative anti-Americanism.

I, along with many others, fell into the degenerate swamp of anti-Americanism. I do not understand the revolutionaries who have become monarchists today! The wave of hostility towards America [after the revolution] swept us all away.
