On September 5, 1990, Ali-Akbar Kaveh, the prominent Iranian calligrapher, passed away in Tehran .

Kaveh was a student of Emad-ol-Kottab and a renowned master of the Nastaliq script . He is considered one of the important figures of the generation of calligraphers who continued the tradition of Persian calligraphy in the contemporary period .
