The passing of Mirza Hassan Mostowfi al-Mamalek, the seventh Speaker of the National Consultative Assembly

Twelve years later, on the 6th of Shahrivar 1311 (August 28, 1932), the life of one of the well-known figures of the constitutional era came to an end; Mirza Hassan Mostowfi al-Mamalek, the seventh Speaker of the National Consultative Assembly. He belonged to that generation of statesmen who lived between the tradition of constitutionalism and the pressure of the nascent Pahlavi government.

He was a man who presided over the parliament and, in an era when modern institutions were still being consolidated, was a symbol of the effort for legal governance. His death closed another chapter of the constitutional era.
