The beginning of the construction of Ferdowsi's mausoleum.

One of the important cultural events of this day goes back to the 12th of Shahrivar 1307 (September 3, 1928); the day when the renovation and construction of Ferdowsi's mausoleum began in Tus.

The construction of the mausoleum was completed in the following years, and it was finally inaugurated on the 20th of Mehr 1313 (October 12, 1934), coinciding with the celebration of the millennium of Ferdowsi.

Before this project, Ferdowsi's mausoleum was a very simple and small structure, and historical reports have even described it as a humble burial place with a small dome.

Thus, the 12th of Shahrivar can be considered the day when one of the most important modern symbols of honoring the Persian language and literature entered a new phase.
