Tehran on the verge of a coup; Semi-siege and confiscation of newspapers

Two days before the coup d'état of August 19, on August 17, 1953, Tehran was in a state of semi-siege. Mossadegh was still in power, but military forces were deployed in the streets.
Newspapers, one after another, were either banned or forced into silence.
This day was a point at which everything still seemed possible: both the victory of the law and its defeat.
