The 12th of Shahrivar, 383, is the birthday of Abu Mo'in Naser ibn Khosrow Qobadiyani, known as Naser Khosrow; a poet, philosopher, sage, and renowned Iranian traveler, born in Qobadiyan, a district of Balkh.

Naser Khosrow was one of the most prominent intellectual and literary figures of 11th-century Iran. Alongside poetry, he had knowledge in philosophy, mathematics, medicine, astronomy, and theology.

His "Travelogue" (Safarnameh) is considered one of the most important literary and historical sources for understanding the Islamic lands of his time.
