The oil agreement between Iran and the Italian oil company Agip Mineraria, with a 75 percent share for Iran, was approved by the National Consultative Assembly.

This agreement, in appearance, was a sign of Iran's greater independence in decision-making regarding oil resources; but in practice, it was part of the larger game of foreign and domestic powers for the control of resources and interests.
